Jaime Rosas is a very talented keyboardist from Chile who gained quite good reputation while playing in progressive metal band - Entrance. However not too many people know that he also recorded few solo albums (sometimes under Jaime Rosas Trio or Jaime Rosas Cuarteto moniker) where he showed completely different face - symphonic prog "wizard". While first 2 albums of this artist - "Virgo" and "Extremos", where a bit too modern, electronic sounding, Jaime turned into more retro-prog direction from his 3rd studio output - "Creciendo". However those last two albums were more in the vain of Japanese bands like Gerard or Ars Nova which mix razor-sharp organ riffs with modern, digital synthesizers, the new born "child" of Rosas called "Flashback" sounds even more faithful to ELP style of prog thanks to similar approach to the music and devotion to good, old Hammond organ all the way through.

Héctor Lavoe was born to sing. As Latin music evolved from the boogaloo of the late '60s to the salsa boom of the '70s, Lavoe was at its forefront and "El Cantante" (the singer) of some of its most representative songs. Born Héctor Juan Perez in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on September 30, 1946, he was influenced by the Latin singers he heard on the radio, Daniel Santos and Chuito el de Bayamon, just to name a couple. As he grew more involved in music, he drew his inspiration from Puerto Rico's great sonero Ismael Rivera, as well as Cheo Feliciano. These influences are obvious in Lavoe's singing style: he attacks the son and montuno like the masters Rivera and Beny Moré, but Lavoe's natural talent for improvosation made him unique and very popular with salsa fans.

Two CDs devoted to the Springfields is probably a bit much for casual fans. This set could likely have been trimmed to one 70-minute CD, leaving out "Silver Dollar," "Row Row Row" and some of the other lesser material from their first album, although it is strange in an enlightening way to hear Dusty singing the latter, a pre-World War I standard more suited to the likes of Ruth Etting. What's good is that none of the high spots are left out, including "Allentown Jail," the ethereal "Far Away Place," "Silver Threads and Golden Needles" (natch), the delightful "Little Boat" (the best of their international numbers), and the gorgeous, near-British beat style "Come On Home," where Dusty starts to show off some of the soulfulness that would later identify her voice. The notes are well detailed, and the mastering is flawless.

Albatros is a Progressive rock band from Spain formed in 2000. The musicians make the listener get the most suggestive atmospheres through an epic journey full of distortion, melody and poetry. In 2008 they released their debut studio album "Pentadelia", where they managed to blend psychedelic influences, hard rock and progressive in a very interesting way.
"Ursus", published on the Musea Parallèle label in 2011, combines classic-rock ala Pink Floyd and Rush with Porcupine Tree modern sound and a spanish approach influenced by Triana. Albatros is flying high again. Would you like to go with them?
