With all due respect to Kacey Musgraves, the current state of country music will never be remembered as one of the genre’s golden hours. The country chanteuse surprised many observers when she walked away with the Country Music Association’s Album of the Year trophy last fall for her divine “Golden Hour” collection. But while none of the album’s singles made much of a dent on the airplay charts, it’s also true that the best country music isn’t often found on the radio airwaves these days anyway.

"White Buffalo" is the debut album from singer-songwriter Joseph Mach. The album is a departure from his pop-rock roots, blending folk/americana with a touch of motown swagger. Layered keyboards and reverb-soaked harmonies give a nod to Mach's church choir roots, with a rhythm section of some of Austin's finest session players basking in the warmth of vintage tubes. Lyrically, "White Buffalo" is an exploration into the depths of the human spirit, with overarching themes of belonging, vulnerability and survival encountered on the journey down the rabbit hole.

The Trend is back in action with their new album, Wood Seats Lane. The power/pop punk band is flowing with new material. It's the finished album that should have been released in 1979. The Trend is currently an obscure Salford gem. With an international and United Kingdom fan base, the band have just released Wood Seats Lane. A story telling the history behind The Trend. There's a lot of power pop magic that you won't get in today's bands. The songs still as fresh as they would be on the brink of 1979. Everyone will remember hits like Polly and Wendy, Teenage Crush and Cool Johnny. I mean, you can currently find the album in most Manchester records stores.

The opening album "Aleo" defines the style of the album. It has to be hit, with tastes, melodious riffs and a bit of solos. The beautifully recorded double bass adds beauty. Similarly, the funky "Jungle" is a good warm-up for a party or a bigger party. Two years ago, Skorupski would probably be begged by Stanisław Trzciński for going to the stage in front of the Branicki Palace, to add a positive touch to the local accent, today there is no Vibe, there is a saxophonist in such a climate. The composer follows the blow. "Ewa" is the next issue that Zbigniew Namysłowski would not be ashamed of - obviously from Air Condition. The musician plays the same parts of the electric piano, on the key he is supported by Marek Kubik, recording artist, and one of the most important recordings.

Most of the songs in “Natt og Dag” (“Night and Day”) were originally written in higher keys for song and piano, except for the songs by Nordheim and Åm, which were written for song and harp, as well as Sommerfeldt’s piece for song and solo cello. Many composers could have been included in this anthology, and the selection of songs in this recording is not meant to be authoritative or representative from a music-historical perspective. The songs were chosen merely because I enjoy them, because they are rarely performed and because I consider them to be suitable for my arrangements for bass-baritone, harp and string quintet. Still, “Norwegian Songs vol. 2” presents songs by 18 Norwegian composers who in various ways moved towards new forms of expression after the culmination of the national romantic period, combining elements from European and Norwegian art song tradition in interesting ways.
